Donate a Toy at Toybank – Small Deed Great Need # 11

Read Small Deed Great Need # 10

One of the favourite television advertisements in the recent days was Johnson & Johnson‘s ‘share the language of love’. It was an effort organized in the month of May 2012 to collect used toys from common people at informed stores on informed dates. The collected toys were then distributed to needy children.

Food, used clothes, donations are what I have heard of being contributed to orphanages and NGOs.

Toys are new and meaningful! It’s indeed their right to play!

If you do have old toys, bed-time story books, children bikes, block games, clothes, colour pencils and just anything you think can make another child smile, please come forward. It doesn’t cost you anything.

The Johnson & Johnson collection dates are closed now, I guess. I am not sure though. You can check this FB page for info:

A NGO called Toybank also does this work throughout the year.

At Toybank, toys from you and me are collected and distributed to children from under privileged background. They do not stop with this. They also focus on improving children’s lives through playing, play ground activities, creative communities etc. To donate toys, all you need to do are 2 simple steps from your laptop.

1. Go to this page – http://www.toybank.org/site/contact.aspx?req=donate

2. Submit your contact details.

OR

Simply e-mail to mail@toybank.org

May your donations bring new joys to new children.

P.S. Anything you think can be added here, please leave a comment or an email. It could be anything from removing waste from roadside to donating blood. Your suggestion will bear you a virtue and an acknowledgement in a new post.
