An Inspiring Quote for all!

A ship in the harbour is safe but that's not what ships are built for

This quote had signed my outgoing e-mails for a long time. At those times in life when I had to choose between comfort of the known and the uncertainty of the unknown, I borrowed inspiration from this line. Make a note of it in your mind. When you plan to indulge in something aspiring but new, when there’s a conflict between your heart and your mind, when you face a struggle to break free from your nutshell; be it for anything – a personality trait or a life choice – and when the comfort of your certainty zone pulls you a little too strongly, just dwell into this:

A ship in the harbour is safe but that’s not what ships are built for.

You’ll get your solution! You’ll decode your potential!

Image History: That was during our ship sail at the South Atlantic Coast in Florida, close to Apalachicola. The sight of those hungry predators following this fishermen ship reminded me of disgusting human hunger for every silvery stuff on this planet.

  1. There is one more quote that says we should sharpen our axe for three hours, if we plan to cut trees for one hour. So, creating a strong ship and a strong crew before leaving the shore might be better?

  2. Nice quote and very well put.
I had read somewhere when a young boy met a reputed writer, and he asked something and he started to quote someone, he replied , tell me what you feel, not others. So I am sorry I cannot take up the challenge.

  3. Very nice – the conflict in your heart says it all. The decision to step beyond this conflict and make these decisions and activities count is the most exciting bit. 🙂 Thanks for the link share Nandini, I am sure my readers will appreciate this
